SoftwareThe Faculty and University have negotiated for a number of commonly used software packages to be site or faculty licenced. Where possible, we will provide information about commonly used, or purchased software on this page for easy reference. Alternatively, the ITS Software Catalogue, lists site-wide software available to all staff and students and any restrictions that may apply. For more information about software that is not listed below, please log a jobdesk request. Adobe softwareThe University has negotiated a software licencing contract with Adobe, which allows us to purchase most of their products for significantly reduced discounts. Under the licence we purchase individual licences for each software product installation, as required (i.e. this is not an open site licence). At our discounted rate, the licences can only be purchased directly from the appointed vendor - Edsoft. The product codes for commonly purchased products are as follows:
Although not listed above, the full range of products are available to the University. For information about additional products, or for pricing details please log a Jobdesk request. Please note: The product codes above are for a single install licence only. The install media and unlocking keys are held by the Faculty IT group, and will be installed once the licence has been processed by Edsoft. Macromedia softwareThe faculty participates in a contract program known as a Term Site Licence. The program allows for participating faculties to install the products in the educational range of Macromedia software on University owned machines, and for (work related) staff use at home. The following products are available: Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Freehand and Director. Requests to install Macromedia software should be made by logging a Jobdesk request. Work at Home softwareUnder some of our software licence agreements, staff and students may be entitled to also use the software package for work purposes at home. Some of these packages can be installed, if the University owns a licence and the software is installed on your desktop machine; other packages require a seperate purchase at a significantly reduced rate. The ITS Software Catalogue, lists which products are available for home use, but a summary is provided below. Microsoft Software Staff members are able to purchase a range of Microsoft software packages for home use, for $25. Some of the titles include, Windows XP Pro upgrade, Windows Vista upgrade, Office 2003, Office 2007, Project and Visio. Staff are entitled to one (1) copy of each application for a single install on their home machine. Staff are required under the licence agreement to remove the software from their home machine when they terminate employment with the University. To order Microsoft Work at Home software, browse to Data3 Licencing, on the right hand side, enter "monash teachers" as the email address/username and "staff" as the password. You will be then logged into their ordering system where you can select the products you require. The system will request your credit card details for payment. Turn around time for media delivery is normally next day, but may take upto 2 weeks depending on their stock of media. SPSS Staff who wish to use SPSS at home, must log an ITS Service Desk request, asking for a home install of SPSS. ITS will then provide a software agreement form to complete, as well as the installation media and install codes. ITS only provide a 5 day window to install the program once the media is issued. The faculty is charged a late fee of $100 if media is not returned on time. If received, the late fee will be passed onto your school or budget area. Other Software for Home use Contact Science IT via Jobdesk if you wish to have other software installed at home. |
