Get hands on research experience working on your own project in one of
the world’s leading plant laboratories. Students can do a CSIRO Plant
Industry Summer Studentship, run in collaboration with the Australian
Pastoral Research Trust, or a Summer Studentship with the Centre for
Plant Biodiversity Research.
The Summer Student Program will provide an opportunity to be part of
exciting world-class science for up to 24 outstanding 2nd to 3rd year
university students. The successful students will undertake a research
project of 10 weeks duration from 5 December 2005 to 10 February 2006 at
one of the following locations: Canberra, Brisbane, Perth, Narrabri,
Adelaide or Merbein.
CSIRO Plant Industry conducts and applies strategic research in the
plant sciences to promote profitable and sustainable agri-food, fibre
and horticultural industries and to develop novel plant products to
improve natural resource management. The Division has a staff of over
700 with 60 per cent located at its headquarters in Canberra and other
groups located at nine sites across Australia.
The Centre for Plant Biodiversity Research is a collaborative link
between CSIRO Plant Industry and the Department of the Environment and
Heritage that aims to promote the study, documentation and conservation
of Australia’s plant biodiversity.
