 The new Bachelor of Biotechnology with Honours is a specialist cross-faculty course offered from 2006 by the Faculties of Science, Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, and Engineering. This single degree program has been designed to meet an identified industry need for tertiary graduates with specific training in biotechnology.
Dr Philip MacKinnon, the course coordinator, will provide an overview of the course, discussing “What is biotechnology?”, career opportunities, course structure, prerequisites and the medical biotechnology specialist stream.
Academic speakers will provide further information about the biological, chemical, nano-biotechnology and industrial biotechnology specialist streams that are also offered within the course.
