Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)

Applications for the Winter 2009 intake of UROP will be open between 1 April - 20 April, 2009.

UROP offers “real life” experience of research through casual employment in a research laboratory or team in the biomedical field.  Applications are invited from undergraduate students in relevant disciplines.  Across the Program, a wide variety of projects are offered, ranging from mainly laboratory-based through to bioinformatics.  Students studying mathematics, statistics, physics and computer sciences are encouraged to apply.
A limited number of positions are available at organisations in the Monash precinct, to commence during the winter vacation period in July 2009.

Eligibility is restricted to current undergraduate students who have completed at least one full year of their undergraduate degree at the time of application, or at least two years if completing a double degree.  Students must also have at least one full semester of their undergraduate coursework remaining at the time of application.

For more information, conditions and the on-line application, please visit the website www.bio21.com.au/education.asp.  Entry to UROP is highly competitive.  The website contains a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.
