Major and minor sequences in same area of study

Policy

Students enrolled in a Bachelor of Science may complete their major and minor studies in the same area of study, just as they may take a double major in the same discipline.

Students are allowed to complete a major and minor sequence in the same area of study where the same 12-point first-year sequence can be the feeder for both the major and the minor.

SUPPORTING INFORMATION

Purpose and Rationale

This was acceptable as students would always be required to complete at least 36 points of first level subjects and most of these subjects acted as the first year sequence for a number of different second and third level disciplines.
