Committees and postgraduate student representationPostgraduate research students have representation on both the Research Degrees Committee (RDC) and the Research Graduate School Committee (RGSC). There is also a faculty Postgraduate Committee comprising elected representatives from each of the schools of the faculty.
1. Faculty of Science - Research Degrees Committee (RDC)A committee that meets to review matters relating to postgraduate coursework and higher degrees by research (HDR) management and policy. Applications for admission and variations to masters candidature are approved at this level. Please direct any queries to the Graduate Studies Officer in the first instance. 2. Monash University - Research Graduate School Committee (RGSC)A committee of the university responsible for administering the university's doctoral and research award programs. Applications for admission and variations to doctoral and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) candidature are approved at this level, but are first reviewed and processed by the Monash Research Graduate School (MRGS). 3. Faculty of Science - Postgraduate CommitteeThe Postgraduate Committee represents the approximately 300 postgraduates within the faculty, and is the main link between postgraduates and faculty staff. Members attend meetings of the faculty’s Research Degrees Committee (RDC) and are able to represent the views of postgraduates. Please contact your school representative should you wish to become involved in the committee or to discuss any concerns. 4. Faculty of Science – Faculty Equity and Diversity CommitteeThe Faculty of Science is committed to promoting equity and access for its staff, students and visitors.
