Physics is the most basic of the sciences, underpinning all other disciplines of science, medicine and engineering.
Students explore diverse topics ranging from cosmology to nanotechnology to sub atomic particles.
Physicists are problem solvers, often tackling new challenges, which may involve modelling, instrumentation, new materials and new theories.
Specialist areas include medical physics enhanced by the Centre for X-Ray Physics and Imaging (CXPI), and theoretical physics.
