“In the last year I have been involved in the area of management and I have enjoyed this new role whilst still maintaining my clinical skills.”
I currently work for Australian Hearing. It is an organisation with unrivalled nationwide career opportunities. It is Australia’s largest provider of hearing services and leads the world in hearing research and technology.
As a clinician, I conduct hearing assessments providing hearing assessments, prescribe and fit hearing aids, and provide rehabilitation and ongoing support.
As a further commitment to our clients we provide community education and attempt to increase awareness of hearing loss and the strategies for intervention.
In the last year I have been involved in the area management and I have enjoyed this role whilst still maintaining my clinical skills.
After graduating with a science degree, I undertook a two-year Masters degree in Clinical Audiology through the University of Melbourne. Following the completion of my master’s degree I commenced work at Australian Hearing.
Audiologists are in high demand at present and there are more positions than university trained audiologists.
My current job enables me to work with people, to use my technical skills and knowledge to assist the aged and young children and make a difference to their quality of life by improving their ability to hear. This aspect of my work is highly rewarding.
My university experience was enhanced by the friendships and relationships I established during my time at Monash University, which has enabled me to be who I am today, both personally and professionally.
