• Manage appropriate access to the marine invertebrate collection, including physical intellectual, commercial and lending access.
• Direct the systematic arrangement of the collection to ensure that international best practice is adopted.
• Responsible for the maintenance of the databases including registration and data editing.
• Provide support in exhibition installation, fielding public enquiries and assisting the curator in matters relating to the collection.
• Work with volunteers in establishing new projects.
1999-Present
PhD Melbourne University Off-Campus at Museum Victoria
• The project studies phylogeny and biogeography of the crustacean amphipod family Phoxocephalidae. These marine crustaceans are widespread in Australian waters and I hope to understand how they are related to each other and to those occurring in other parts of the world. New species have been discovered and described as part of the project.
• I have developed skills in taxonomic identification and description and utilized techniques for constructing phylogenetic trees of relatedness based parsimony analysis.

Crustacea Laboratory Museum Victoria
• Crustacean Research on the museums large collection of crustaceans.
• I developed skills in taxonomic research, describing three new species of shrimp from Tasmanian sea mounts. As well as creating the crustacean website and was involved in many collection management and research projects.
