Since leaving Monash University I have been most fortunate to work in various positions which all have been with the ultimate focus of clinical research. I am currently employed as a Clinical Research Associate in the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Before any new medication is released into the market, it has to undergo various clinical testing to ensure that it is safe, and efficacious. These trials are usually conducted at hospitals and medical centers using volunteers.
In my role as a Clinical Research Associate I am required to travel to the various hospitals and medical centers around Australia which are conducting clinical trials, and to ensure that they are run in accordance to the requirements of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (Aus), the Federal Drug Administration (US), and Good Clinical Practice, as well as the Clinical Trial Protocol.

I have been most fortunate to be witness to new and exciting developments in treatments in various therapeutic areas including, Oncology, Nephrology, Cardiology and Diabetes. I have also been given great opportunity to travel all around Australia and Internationally meeting many leaders in their fields.
I am grateful for the unique opportunities, and guidance given to me at Monash University Gippsland Campus. Subjects such at Biochemistry and Microbiology have given me the background knowledge required in my role especially mechanisms of disease and biological systems.
