"I find teaching the most interesting and challenging job I have undertaken."
My Job
I've done work as a research assistant for an engineer at Australian Paper Mills and I've worked as a Technical Field Sales Representative for a Melbourne chemical company - but I find teaching the most interesting and challenging job that I have undertaken. I am constantly challenged by what happens in the classroom. The huge variety involved in what I do makes it interesting. Every day is different. You may be teaching Ohm's law, every year - but each time the class is different. You have to constantly change your approach to your explanations as each student may comprehend in a different manner. This is what I love about my work.
My Degree
My combined Bachelor of Applied Science/Bachelor of Business degree has played an integral part in my career. My role as a science teacher means that I use the knowledge and skills that I learnt at Monash University every day.
For me, the locality was a huge bonus for studying at
Gippsland Campus. As I am from the area it was economically more viable
to attend Monash Gippsland. Also, why pay to attend a Melbourne based
university when you can receive a world recognised degree right on your
door step. Other benefits were the small class sizes, this increased the
student teacher contact.
