Margaret Clayton - Women in Research Postdoctoral Fellowship 2012OverviewThe Faculty of Science has established the Margaret Clayton - Women in Research Postdoctoral Fellowship to attract female early career researchers with outstanding potential to undertake research in areas of identified faculty research strength or emerging research potential. One award only will be made in 2011 (for commencement in 2012). Table of Contents1. BenefitsThe fellowship will be funded for up to three years, with the second and third year of funding being confirmed following consideration of a report submitted by 1 November in 2012 and 2013 detailing the progress of the research during that year. The school in which the fellow is based will be responsible for providing office accommodation and appropriate access to facilities and services necessary for the fellow's research program. 2. The fellowship is tenable only in one of the Clayton campus-based Schools of the Faculty of Science at Monash University and it is expected that most of the time will be spent in the relevant school or centre. The fellowship is not tenable in the School of Applied Sciences and Engineering (Gippsland campus) nor the School of Science (Sunway campus). Applicants must contact the head of the school in which they propose to undertake the research to discuss the proposed project. 3. Application process

Selection processFollowing a faculty-conducted competitive process, the successful fellow will be appointed within the Academic salary Level A (Step 3 and above) range depending on experience. Superannuation will be provided plus, if necessary, a relocation allowance equivalent to the cheapest economy class airfare for travel to and from Melbourne. Research support will also be available from the relevant school or centre of up to $15,000 per annum. Mid-SeptemberInterviews will be held in person, by telephone or by video-conferencing. Applicants not selected for interview will be notified by the Faculty of Science Research Office, on behalf of the Selection Committee.
