Useful Resources

Accepting job offers like a professional

  • All your hard work has paid off and the job offers start to come in.  The initial offer may be delivered on the telephone and then an employment contract will be forwarded, providing specific details on your employment arrangements such as hours and days of work, job classification and rates of pay, superannuation contributions and benefits and any other entitlements and expectations related to working with this employer.
TIP! Visit the website of the Office of the Employment Advocate for information on employment agreements.

Once you have decided

  • Make your decision with respect to the employer’s timeframe and return the signed contract promptly so the formalities of your appointment can be processed.
  • If declining a job offer do so with good grace and inform the employer as soon as you have made your decision.
