When do employers recruit?

Employers recruit all year round with some starting as early as the first week of first semester to attract final year students to job opportunities with their organisation.   This means that graduate jobs with some organisations will be offered before you finish your course.

Seasonal trends can affect the recruiting period of some industries, especially where multiple opportunities are available, so it is important that you familiarise yourself with the times that positions become available by continually checking and diarising important recruitment dates.  With competition for positions strong you need to be well prepared to apply as the window of opportunity to apply may be quite brief.  Delaying an application may have the consequence of you missing out on an opportunity altogether.
