Unsatisfactory Academic ProgressExclusionWhat does it mean to be excluded?Being excluded means that you cannot enrol in any course offered by the Faculty of Science in the following academic year. You can apply for readmission after 12 months, however, re-admission after a period of exclusion will only be considered if you can demonstrate academic rehabilitation in your studies. This can be done by successfully completing tertiary studies at another faculty or institution during the period of exclusion. Please contact the Faculty of Science for further advice. Students seeking re-admission after a period of exclusion must re-apply through VTAC www.vtac.edu.au and are advised to submit supplementary information with VTAC outlining evidence of academic rehabilitation during the period of exclusion. Please note that re-admission to your degree is NOT guaranteed. International students on a student visa who have been excluded (Australia campuses only)International students on a student visa are advised that condition 8202 of their student visa requires that they maintain satisfactory academic progress. Failure to maintain satisfactory academic progress may place students in breach of this visa condition. For information on the Educational Services Overseas Students (ESOS) Act go to the Australian Education International website. In accordance with the ESOS act 2000, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) may proceed to cancel the visa of international student who was excluded and reported for unsatisfactory course progress. A student who has his/her visa cancelled is likely to have a three-year exclusion period imposed and may be unable to study in Australia for three years. You are advised to contact the international office for advice and support:
