All science degrees offer a wide range of unit choices to accommodate your interests and career aspirations. Always try to make the most of your degree; choose your majors and electives wisely to match your career plans and to accommodate your interests.

There are many resources available online to help you with the planning of your career in science. Visit the following sites:

• Science graduate salaries and job searching: This site gives examples of jobs for science graduates and salaries, median starting salaries, tips for gaining professional employment, and job searching

• Preparation for employment: you should start thinking about getting ready for employment right from the start of your course. Take advantage of Monash’s Enhance your Employability program. Most prospective employers like to see that you have been employed by someone before, so vacation employment is a great start to a career.

Don’t forget that your lecturers, year-level coordinators and other staff in schools and departments offering the different science disciplines are also there to help you.
