Our vision

To generate and exchange scientific knowledge to underpin the effective management of Australia's waterways.

Our objectives

Strategic research - undertake research leading to the improved understanding of the quality of Australia's waterways and of the quality of Australia's waterways and of the effects of the disturbances on these systems.

Contract research - undertake contract research for the scientific community, industry and government departments.

Postgraduate training - provide a top-level and relevant postgraduate training capacity in water research.

Knowledge exchange - work to ensure that this knowledge results in better management of Australia's rivers and streams.
