Collaborative projects

A number of projects are undertaken by the WSC in collaboration with management agencies and industry, which leads to direct uptake of the knowledge generated. 

A number of these are described under Contract Research and others include:

  • Review of urban stormwater entering the Bay of Plenty - with Environment Bay of Plenty, New Zealand (2001)

  • Internal advisor for ecological risk assessment of Boyer Mill wastewater discharge to the Derwent estuary - with Norske Skog Paper Australia, Boyer (1999-2001)

  • Development of a Stressed River Restoration Plan for the Thomson and Macalister Rivers - with Dept Natural Resources & Environment (NRE) (2000-2001)

  • Membership of international advisory team that overviewed an ecological risk assessment of the Fly River, PNG - with OkTedi Mining Ltd (OTML), PNG (1997-2001)

  • Environmental flow assessment for the Lower Thomson and Macalister Rivers - with West Gippsland CMA and Dept Natural Resources & Environment (1999)
